Sermon: A Family Affair

Guest Pastor Barrett shares how our collective duty is to one another with respect to our soul and salvation. Each one of us understands the attraction of sin. We have to take responsibility for keeping one another accountable, including raising our children up properly, in the ways of the Lord. As a family we ought to uplift one another for the purpose of upholding the standard of God. On this baptism/communion Sunday, we celebrate God’s gift – His Saving Grace together; as a family.

Pastor D preached about the duties of faith. Through the Word and Jesus, we are given a better example for our lives and our standards for living. The spirit of the Word will move a faithful believer to the truth of God. God is more faithful to us than we are to him and that blessing should drive our actions – remind us of our duties to our lives, our homes and our spirit. Thanks be to God that His mercies are such that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. (Lamentations 3:22). Wonderful, wonderful stuff.

Sermon:Sifted As Wheat

Pastor D preaches on the active process of spiritual sifting in the life of the Christian. We are battle weary due to the enemy’s constant interruption. He uses flesh and vice to separate us from God, to pry us from God’s love and grace, to divide us from other believers. Satan desires to toss our lives in the air, creating discord, disorder and general mayhem!  

But; by giving our selves, faith and actions to the Lord, we find the things that are not of God shaved from our lives, we become harder to corrupt, we are able to walk through challenges that stifle others. God allows the chaff in our life to be discarded! We are the sifted wheat of God’s intercession.

Upon being sifted, our charge as Christians is to use the ministry of our conversion to strengthen our fellow believers.  Blessed Love.

Sermon: Bless The Lord O My Soul Pt. 2

Pastor D continues to teach on why we as Christians have a responsibility to bless the Lord. His mercy; extending beyond our abilities to perceive; is granted to us in exchange for our faithfulness. It covers our iniquities, our transgressions, and our unrighteousness. He has compassion for us like a father has for his children. He remembers that we are but dust. We ought to know that “the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him” (Ps. 103:17).  Our duty to honor this covenant is to give God the glory in our hearts, in our actions, in our soul; indeed, we must Bless the Lord, O My Soul.
