Sermon: Today

Pastor teaches on the urgency of today. We all struggle with putting things off despite the Spirits utterance to move. We become “Tomorrow People”. Procrastination can still our actions -  and steal our blessings. Fear can paralyze.

Through our walk, The Holy Spirit lets us know that God is constantly speaking to us, calling us; reminding us of His will for our lives. It is when we find  ‘reason’ to hold off on our actions that we run the risk of our hearts becoming hardened and insensitive to God’s intercession in our lives. We need to be attuned to the Instructions making our moves not tomorrow; but Today. Now go!

Excellent message.

Sermon: Acknowledging Gods Gifts

Today we were blessed to come together and enjoy Pastor’s 70th surprise birthday celebration. Guest Preacher Lonnie Duckett preached on our duty as the faithful to acknowledge God’s Gifts that are all around us in our lives. We need to take the moments to recall these gifts and to give thanks for all that He has done.

This is powerful preaching. Wonderful, wonderful.

Scripture: Psalms 103

Sermon: Thirst In The Church

Thirst In The Church

Pastor preaches on the need for fervor in our faith. Thirst in the Church.  The world serves as a constant drain on our faith. Little by little, our exposure to the world dulls our passion for God’s truth. Even though we know we are being worn down, we acquiesce to ways beneath Gods standard – only to find ourselves casual and weakened to the point of sleep.  And while the church sleeps, the enemy is at war – resulting in casual-ties.

The Church’s need for God must be urgent. The most important thing for believers is to always be reaching for God; it must be our absolute thirst for the Lord.  Praise the Lord.

Sermon: God Wants Our Lives

Pastor D teaches that God is for us. God wants our lives. For those who love God, we owe Him our lives, and the purpose of our lives. We honor God through our faith which saves us, and through hope which preserves us. In return, when we find ourselves embattled by the struggles of the walk, we benefit from the intercession of the Holy Spirit which is given to us by Him! So Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? (Rom 8:35) Know this today! Proclaim this profound word straight from the Lord. Blessed teaching.

The Seven Walks of Ephesians

One of the ways to study the Word of God is to study it topically.
To do this you would pick a topic and trace it through the Word.
In the letter of Ephesians Paul use the word "Walk" seven times.

Walking in a literal sense is coordinating the motion of our legs to take us where we want to go.

Figuratively, walk refers to how we conduct our lives.

1.      The Walk of our past.  (Ephesians 2:1-3).
2.      The Walk in good works.  (Ephesians 2:8-10).
3.      The  worthy Walk   (Ephesians 4:1-3).
4.     Don't walk like the world walks  (Ephesians 4:17-19).
5.      The Walk in love  (Ephesians 5:1,2).
6.      The in the light.  (Ephesians 5:5-14).
7.    Walk Circumspectly  (Ephesians 5:15-17).

Pastor's MidWk Msg - Philippians

Philippians (background)

Paul ministered at Philippi during his second missionary journey, spending about three months in the city. The ministry at Philippi marked Paul’s entrance into Macedonia (first entry to Europe), which came about as a result of a vision he had in the city of Troas, just across the northeastern corner of the Aegean Sea from the port city of Neapolis and its close neighbor Philippi (Read Acts 16:8–12).

During this first stay in Philippi—he later briefly visited the city on his third missionary journey (Read Acts 20:6)—Paul brought to faith in Christ people who would form the core of the burgeoning congregation in the city. Among them were Lydia, a businesswoman who opened her home to Paul and his coworkers (Read 16:13–15), and the Philippian jailer, who was converted under Paul’s ministry after an earthquake miraculously broke open the prison (Read Acts 16:22–34).

Paul wrote Philippians while he was a prisoner in Rome. Paul’s imprisonment in Rome is verified by the book of Acts, where we find references to his being guarded by soldiers (Read Acts 28:16),

Philippians Chapter 1.
1  Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
2 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Keep NVCC in your minds
3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
Keep NVCC in your prayers
4Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Keep NVCC in your hearts
7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
