Sermon:Four Kinds of Soil

Pastor breaks further breaks down the parable of the sower and the seed. God’s word doesn’t discriminate where it falls. Where you are in your life’s journey is a metaphor for where the seed falls when you encounter it. Some seed will fall to the wayside and be devoured birds. Some see will fall on the stony place where there isn’t much soil and will fail to grow. Some seed will fall among the thorns and will be suffocated by the thicket. But good work is to identify the seeds when they do fall and to ensure the seed is sowed into good ground, nurtured and cared for.  The seed and the maintenance of the ground allows us to be able to expect abundance when we reap.

Wonderful stuff.

Matthew 13:1-23

Sermon: Acknowledging Gods Gifts

Today we were blessed to come together and enjoy Pastor’s 70th surprise birthday celebration. Guest Preacher Lonnie Duckett preached on our duty as the faithful to acknowledge God’s Gifts that are all around us in our lives. We need to take the moments to recall these gifts and to give thanks for all that He has done.

This is powerful preaching. Wonderful, wonderful.

Sermons:The Sheepfold

The Sheepfold
Pastor D preaches on the blessing of being within the sheepfold, protected by the Good Shepherd.  The shepherd enters by the door – not some other way; and knows us by name.  We come to listen for and know His voice.  We can examine our lives, our actions our connectedness and see if we are within the sheepfold.

The Word admonishes us: He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.”

The enemy seeks to steal and destroy the relationships, the opportunity and the blessings of those within the fold.   But thanks be to the Lord, he reminds us that “I am the door, by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”  Awesome  teaching.

Sermon: The Battle For Your Mind

Pastor D preaches on the toughest battle we face as Christians. We are all confronted with the fallout of strife and war. Leaders change, nations and allies shift, economies adjust, families and cultures change…  Though these are the realities of war, we overlook where the fiercest war occurs: the mind.  The enemy wars against all to keep the world blind to the truth of God. Pastor shows us how even Paul fought these wars too – the war of the mind.  He also shows how Paul gives instruction on how to fight and control this constant and most critical of battlegrounds.  Excellent teaching!

Sermon: Grapes And Vines

Pastor D preaches on the value of Christian connectedness. In our daily lives, our actions will undoubtedly land us in places where we find ourselves disconnected from the only Source of Power in our lives. We are sure to wither. Our connected as fruit bearing witness to the True Vine is more than vital, it’s mandatory. This connection doesn't just happen by believing; we are tasked to abide by the Word and what the word prescribes.  Through willing obedience, we can begin to bear the fruit of the Spirit of God in abundance.

This is the standard that we must uphold.  Powerful!

Moses' House - Gods' House - Your House

Pastor D preached about the duties of faith. Through the Word and Jesus, we are given a better example for our lives and our standards for living. The spirit of the Word will move a faithful believer to the truth of God. God is more faithful to us than we are to him and that blessing should drive our actions – remind us of our duties to our lives, our homes and our spirit. Thanks be to God that His mercies are such that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. (Lamentations 3:22). Wonderful, wonderful stuff.

Sermon:Putting On the Right Equipment

Guest Pastor Larkins preaches about Pauls’ instructions on what, why and how we should to arm ourselves when going through the expected trials and tribulations of believers. He notes that we are valuable to the enemy. The enemy wants us to fall so that we would be doers of his bidding. Therefore, we need to take on the whole armor of God in an effort to protect ourselves from the shrapnel that the world is sure to fire our way. Excellent teaching.

Sermon:Having Hope in the Midst of Trouble

Guest preacher Pastor Joe Larkins from Zion Baptist teaches about the blessings that believers gain through faith. Accepting Christ resets our lives redirecting us from backsliding and reorienting our walks toward God. As a result, we gain access to Gods grace, mercy, peace and hope. We can take solace in these awesome blessings because there is beautiful hope in the midst of all of our troubles.

Sermon: God Wants Our Lives

Pastor D teaches that God is for us. God wants our lives. For those who love God, we owe Him our lives, and the purpose of our lives. We honor God through our faith which saves us, and through hope which preserves us. In return, when we find ourselves embattled by the struggles of the walk, we benefit from the intercession of the Holy Spirit which is given to us by Him! So Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? (Rom 8:35) Know this today! Proclaim this profound word straight from the Lord. Blessed teaching.

Sermon:God is with us

Pastor D teaches about how God has ordained that we keep him as priority in our lives. As we sojourn in our honest walk, the faithfulness we build is rewarded by God's blessings. Indeed, as a result, the holiest of the holies becomes manifest in us and through us to others as a testimony. What a blessing!
